HISTORY:

The Calvert Lacrosse Club is a non-profit club which is co-sponsored by the Calvert County Department of Parks and Recreation.
It was organized in 1986 by Lenny Casalino and 9 boys from Northern High School eager to learn the sport of lacrosse and begin a team for the first time in Calvert County. At that time, most people in Calvert County had never heard of the sport of lacrosse. Since that time, the Club has shown rapid growth and improvement and was the driving force in getting lacrosse established as a varsity program in the counties public school system.

The Calvert Lacrosse Club is divided into a North and South Division. The North Division consists of children from ages 5 through 15 and predominately living in the northern part of Calvert County. The South Division, also consisting of children from ages 5 through 15 , predominately live in the southern part of the county. All teams play in the Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (SMYLA), a youth lacrosse league consisting of teams from St. Mary's County, Prince George's County, Montgomery County and Calvert County.

Calvert Lacrosse Club's officers, coaches and parents are extremely proud of their program, its history and the families and children who take part in learning this wonderful sport. We firmly believe that our children deserve to be taught by the best coaches and instructors available. All our coaches are extremely experienced in the game of lacrosse and the proper manner in which to coach children. You will not find a more experienced and dedicated coaching staff in all of Southern Maryland.
